Why Choose Best Friends Dog Training?
A little about In Home Training
In-Home program is when a trainer comes to your home and teaches in your dog’s natural environment. You and your dog together will learn the obedience training he or she needs to be a great family pet. For dogs that are already showing undesirable behaviors (counter surfing, resource guarding, escaping and trying to eat the neighbor’s cat…) this program is a great way to go! Your pup will learn to be polite to friends, family, children, teens and other dogs.
Lifetime Group Class
Group class promotes additional stability with training commands, distraction training, and socialization for your dog. After our initial training, we include lifetime group class to maintain your pups training and take it further. You are welcome to come often to increase skills or feel free to stop in and brush up the pups obedience before your annual beach vacation.
CGC and Therapy Dog
We've trained hundreds of therapy dog teams for multiple organizations. People who train with us often stay and continue training to achieve their Canine Good Citizen certificate. After that, many achieve a Therapy Dog certification. This is included with our programs.
We love our dogs, and we’ll do a lot for them. We know that accidents happen, but they should be accidents and not normal behavior! Housebreaking or housetraining a dog or puppy can be frustrating, tiring and you may want to give up. Don’t! We can help!
Please keep in mind that by enrolling your dog in our basic obedience training, your dog’s housetraining skills will often improve. Some people prefer a more intense program where the dog stays with us to start the housebreaking process.
Obedience Training is also known as “Basic Training”
It’s the building blocks for every well-mannered dog.
A well-behaved dog knows how to do the following things, whenever they are told, no exceptions: Sit, Stay, Come, Heel, Down, Off, Leave it, Place
Ever wish you could send your dog to an expert? And when dog came back home, he or she would be well-trained, great on or off leash, pay attention to you (and only you) on your walks and not lose their cool when the doorbell rings? Best Friends Dog Training is that great place. We exist, and we can help you and your dog.
People who choose to Board and Train sometimes don’t have the time to train their dog in the consistent manner that works best. People also choose to Board and Train when they are going away on vacation, pregnant, or have a dog that is physically stronger than they are.
Group Classes are an integral part of our training. This unique program allows you and your dog to participate in guided weekly group classes where you will practice your skills, receive feedback from a variety of trainers and dog owners and provide socialization and “real world” training experience around multiple distractions. We also teach new skills, drills and activities to make you and your dog the envy of the neighborhood. It will keep your dog training skills sharp, and the dogs have a great time!
Please come watch a group class to meet our dogs, clients and trainers. Meet new clients who are still learning the basics and see our veterans who have been showing up for years. No appointment is needed. Our results speak for themselves!
We offer in-home training because we know that some people learn best when they are comfortable and can see how to apply everything they have learned in their familiar setting. That’s why Best Friend’s Dog Training has been offering in-home, private dog training since 1999! We have trained over 12,000 dogs, including thousands of family pets. Our dog obedience program is truly unique, and recommended by our clients and fellow dog trainers.
In our In-Home Program, a trainer comes to the client’s home and teaches in your dog’s natural environment. Your dog will learn all of the obedience training he or she needs to be a great family pet and polite to friends, family, children, teens and other dogs. Learn more about our obedience training.
We’re proud to offer our popular puppy foundation and socialization training to our local community. Over the first 10 years we had separated ourselves from the masses of trainers by offering a high level of obedience training to our clients. We have worked hard to create a solid reputation and are happy to start training the littlest and newest dogs in our community.
Puppy Foundation classes are for pups between 8 and 14 weeks old. We offer this in both In home format and the 2 week board and train. People have been very happy with results. We use a reward based system to train the dog in basic "obedience commands, get the pups accustomed to a leash, and begin or continue crate training. Although we can't guarantee a finished result, we can kick start the housebreaking process.

In a word, my experience was, and continues to be, through our Tuesday group classes -- EXCELLENT!! .... I can now walk with Otis off leash for miles, in both urban and hiking environments. His recall is great, and he will stay "on place" until released. -Maggie with Otis
For a dog that three weeks ago wouldn’t listen to anything I said and now will sit and stay no matter how far away I walk from her! Proud of my pup! Super thankful to Best Friend Dog Training! - Chris with Koa
Endless gratitude for the amount of training, love and care for our German Shepard! My husband and I struggled to gain control of his behavior and dog aggression. Not only is Panzer well behaved on a leash, he is now responding to commands & stays in place with visitors. When looking for a trainer. I would recommend Frank. Panzer has been with another trainer before and Frank has been able to completely turn our dog around with bad training behaviors already in place. - Amber with Panzer
